Job Description

  • Lead and manage marquee matters across film, OTT, broadcasting, digital, gaming & content platforms

  • Provide strategic advisory on contracts, licensing, IP rights, compliance, broadcasting regulations, and dispute resolution

  • Handle high-stakes negotiations, litigation & arbitrations within the sector

  • Build and grow client relationships, leveraging existing networks and attracting new mandates

  • Drive practice development and contribute to the firm’s thought leadership in the industry

  • Mentor and guide a talented team of associates, fostering professional growth

Accountability

1. Client Advisory & Transactional Support

  • Provide legal counsel to clients in the media, entertainment, OTT, digital, and advertising industries on non-litigation matters.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including:

    • Content licensing and distribution agreements

    • Talent/artist agreements

    • Production and co-production agreements

    • Advertising and sponsorship contracts

    • Music publishing and synchronization licenses

2. Regulatory & Compliance Advisory

  • Advise clients on applicable laws and regulatory frameworks including:

    • Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

    • Broadcasting regulations (TRAI, MIB guidelines)

    • ASCI codes, IT Act, and data privacy laws

  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with local and international content standards and regulations.

3. Contract Management & Strategy

  • Lead contract negotiations and develop strategies that align legal protections with business objectives.

  • Mitigate legal risk through structured contract terms, indemnities, warranties, and IP ownership clauses.

4. Intellectual Property (IP) Strategy

  • Assist in acquisition, protection, exploitation, and monetization of IP across media platforms.

  • Conduct IP due diligence in content acquisitions, format licensing, and rights sales.
